It had been 5 days since it had last snowed at Northstar when we went out along Sawtooth Ridge for the first time. It’s a really easy 15-minute hike off Northstar and was totally worth it when we found fresh powder. We spent a few days back along Sawtooth shooting, riding, and enjoying our own powder while the rest of the resort road groomed trails.

I then meet up with Nick Poohachoff for a trip down to Snow Valley in Southern CA to shoot with most of the Academy Snowboard Team. We stayed there for 4 days and then came back to Tahoe where Nick laid down another trick that had never been done on the Northstar DFD, and followed that up by hiking into the squaw backcountry the next day and having a solo session on a cliff. Nick knows how to work.
