Jerod Stoner

Jerod Stoner
-Jerod rips around a corner

Stoner is hands down the best dirt bike rider I know. He has won countless races throughout the US and has even been to Travis Pastrana’s house to ride before. Last year he won a large race in PA and this year the event organizers wanted to sell t-shirts with images of the winners riders on them. Jerod phoned me up about shooting him for the shirt and we set up a date.

At his house he has a few tracks and after looking around them we selected this turn for our shoot. I used my Elinchrom Ranger RX with A-Head along with two Sunpak 555s fired via PocketWizard Plus IIs to light the image. It was shot on the Canon EOS-1D Mark III with a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L USM lens. My exposer was 1/250th at f/5.0. It was critical for Jerod to hammer his turn at the same spot each run because of my low DOF. Below is a another image of Jerod along with one photo of his buddy on a different turn.

Dirt Bike POV

Dirt Bike POV

A few days ago I went along with my parents to ride our dirt bikes and hang out for the afternoon. I really enjoy POV shots and had been itching to shoot something so I used the opportunity to take some POV photos of riding the bikes. After duck tapping a Canon EOS 20d to my chest I attached my Tokina 10-17/3.5-4.5 DX fisheye lens and a cable release. Holding in the clutch and shooting with the same hand was a little tough but after a few laps I was getting the hang of it. Check out my favorite photos below along with the 60 second video.

Jerod Stoner: Portraits of People I Know

Jerod is the local pro I guess I could say. He has 4 tracks at his house, a 80 foot + jump, and a few other smaller ones. This is one of the smaller ones in the woods and by smaller I mean a 50ft step up jump.

Bladhill Billies

I spent the afternoon throwing Horseshoes and taking some action/portrait photos with a bunch of kids from the Baldhill area. Not a lot to write just look at the photos.
