Toy Cameras Book

I was contacted a while ago to submit photography I had taken with a little toy camera called an Ultronic Panoramic. Six months later some of the images made it into the final book.

- Both images on the right page are mine.

Ryan Tarbell – Sugar Bowl, CA

I’m so happy this shot was FINALY published. It’s hands down one of my favorite photographs of all time. Shot in Lake Tahoe in 2009 on my Hasselblad 500C/M. Ryan Tarbell lays down a frontside 180 with the most G’d up style. Knees in the face! Are you kidding me?

New Buys: Polaroid Land Camera 340

Olivia Arden

I found a Land Camera for sale on craigslist.com. I didn’t know anything about the camera when I bought it. Not even how to extend the bellows. What I found out was my $20 purchase was in MINT condition and included every accessory in the book.

Hanover, PA

During the fall of last year my girlfriend and I took a few walks threw the downtown part of Hanover, PA. We snapped a few photos, bought some cheap movies, added to our magazine collection/addiction, and passed away the time.

Winter In Summer – A New Series

Since I am not able to keep up with my blog very well during the winter months I though it would be fun to share my photography from my winter during the summer.

October 18, 2009
We had heard it snowed in the Poconos a foot two days earlier and seeing that it was October any excuse to try and snowboard was good enough. Mike Bennett, Doug Usko, and myself loaded up my Subaru forester and made the two hour drive to Camelback. Unfortunately upon our arrival we discover almost all the snow was gone with small patches of unrideable snow being all that remained. Not wanting to make the drive home quite yet we, went to Big Boulder to meet up with Matt Roberge, Luke Henning, and Jayell White.

Big Boulder had a little bit more snow at best, but we decided to hike to the top of the mountain (all 500 vertical feet of it) to see what snow might lie up there. Over halfway up we realized the top would hold nothing more then the bottom and decided to shovel a small landing for a sketchy bomb drop. Mike and Doug both hit the drop, were smashed to bits on the too small landing and over the feature quickly. We hung out talking and laughing for a while before returning to the cars, where we parted ways and all drove home.

Winter was coming soon though…

New Buys: Hasselblad 40mm & NC2 Prism

Over christmas I received a used Canon 35mm camera from KEH.com and was so impressed with the camera that I decided to go back to them when I wanted to purchase some new Hasselblad gear. After a few conversations with Sam Muller and Tim Z I decided to go with the Hasselblad 40mm over the 50mm. I picked the 40mm because its wider, tack sharp, and has very low distortion with the only negative being the lens is HUGE. It’s as long as my hand and the lens is larger then my palm. My main intention with the lens is to shoot portraits and not action. I also picked up a NC2 prism to try out.

Olivia Arden & Panoramic

I have taken a lot of photographs of Ms. Olivia and here are two more. The color image was shot in Hanover, PA during one of our walks and was taken on my Hasselblad 500c/m with Kodak E100VS film. The B&W image of her was taken on some 35mm camera with film that I forget. Probably Kodak T-Max 400 film.

All of the Panoramic images were taken on the Ultonic Panoramic toy camera with Kodak Tri-X 400 film also during our Hanover walk.
