Over christmas I received a used Canon 35mm camera from KEH.com and was so impressed with the camera that I decided to go back to them when I wanted to purchase some new Hasselblad gear. After a few conversations with Sam Muller and Tim Z I decided to go with the Hasselblad 40mm over the 50mm. I picked the 40mm because its wider, tack sharp, and has very low distortion with the only negative being the lens is HUGE. It’s as long as my hand and the lens is larger then my palm. My main intention with the lens is to shoot portraits and not action. I also picked up a NC2 prism to try out.

New Buys: Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3
I bought some new gear for this winter. Today arrived my first of three items and inside it was a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3. I have never owned a point and shoot camera, so deciding which camera to buy and education myself on P&S technology was a task. I knew I wanted video capabilities, low f-stop, sharp lens, and the ability to shoot in RAW. The LX3 had all of my needs by supplying 1280 x 720 @ 24fps video shooting, a f/2.0-2.8 Leica DC Vario-Summicron Lens, and RAW shooting capabilities. I have to wait for my memory card which I ordered from another online dealer but once it arrives I will have some shots to upload.

End The Fed – New Book
Olivia bought me “End the Fed” by Ron Paul. I was a Ron Paul fan during the last election and was really excited when I saw his interview on Jon Stewart regarding this book. My plan is to crack it open over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Burning Bridges
I was really excited when I found this movie still available on the Holden Outerwear website. I am not an impulse buyer by a long shot, but when I saw this I didn’t even think twice about ordering it. I have had a bootleg copy of the movie for years now but it has completely gone to shit and I am more then willing to purchase it. Hands down Burning Bridges is in my top 3 favorite movies along with Kingpin’s last release Back In Black, and Robot Food’s last release After Lame both of which I also own.

In a move to make more of my programs and music legal, I purchased my first copy of Adobe Photoshop CS4 & iWork 09. I have been using PS since CS 1 so it’s about time I send Adobe some money to show my support for their great products. I bought iWork over Microsoft Office as a recommendation from my brother.
